Commentary: Logarithms Review/Introduction (for Fractals)

 

            Unfortunately, I’ve seen very few students at Wheelock who understood logarithms when/if they studied them in high school.  I wrote this handout when we were studying fractals in a problem solving seminar.  The students had done well in high school math, but most did not have sufficient understanding of logs to read the material on fractal dimension.  This handout was in line with the problem solving seminar spirit of the course, but also designed to give students the necessary logarithms background.  8/05
