Commentary: Frac, Dec, and Per -- Connecting Representations

 

            This is mostly a reference handout on how to convert between various representations of fractions, decimals, and percents.  There are some exercises about repeating decimals at the end.  I wrote this for a class where we weren’t using a text and were focusing on activities to build understanding.  The topics are standard and often covered in a rote fashion; I covered the same computational topics, but emphasized understanding and mathematical connections.   8/05
