Commentary: What is this Class About? 2003-4

 

            I started writing versions of this handout at Theresa Perry’s suggestion; the idea was to explain the “new rules” of a reform course to students in an informal way.  I highly recommend this approach; students who have never experienced a reform course are genuinely perplexed about how one works.  Making expectations clear both decreases anxiety and increases work quality. 

            Part 1 was common for all sections of the course, and individual instructors wrote their own policy handouts (part 2).  7/05
